Centenary Celebrations: Ms. Guiding Volta – Maiden Edition

As part of the Association’s centenary celebrations, volta region climaxed theirs in a grand style. Several activities were organised which started from 15th – 18th December, 2022  and included a media briefing, clean-up exercise, float, and was climaxed with a pageant show known as Miss Guiding Volta where a guide was crowned as a Queen.

On 15th of December, 2022 contestants were interviewed on the airwaves of Lorlornyo and VOV radio stations where they spoke about their project and gave details about what the pageantry entailed.

On 16th of December, a clean-up exercise was organised at the Volta Regional Hospital in Hohoe in the early hours of the day. In the afternoon of that same day a float was organized on the principal streets of Hohoe to create awareness about the pageantry.

Miss Guiding Volta took place on the 3rd day of the celebrations at St. Theresa’s College of Education (TERESCO) assembly hall. The pageantry was divided into 3 sections, cultural display, talent show and project presentations with questions and answers.

Awards were given for various categories; Most Eloquent, Ambitious, Star performer and many more. Miss Abigail Esenam Ahovi, was crowned as the Queen for the maiden edition of Miss Guiding Volta with two other ladies as runner-ups.

The regional level centenary climax ended with a thanksgiving ceremony at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Hohoe and a dinner (by the Guides of the Volta Region), followed by an interview of the Queen and runner-ups by Lorlornyo Fm and VOV radio.
