Red and Proud Walkathon 2023

Maiden En Agape in collaboration with Ghana Girl Guides Association organized a walk to mark the Menstrual Hygiene Management Day on 28th May, 2023. The walk themed, “A Fundraising and Awareness Walk for Menstrual Hygiene Management” was organized on Saturday, 27th May, 2023. Participants converged at the Accra mall at exactly 7:30 am and began with aerobics to prepare themselves for the walk. The walk started from Accra Mall through the N1 road, through to Fiester Royal and finally to the Ghana Girl Guides National Training Center, Achimota-Accra.

The team were entertained with brass band engaging all participants, with an escort from the Ghana Police Service and the National Cadet Corp providing security for all participants. The goal of the walkathon was to create awareness and raise funds to purchase sanitary products to be distributed to girls and young women in deprived communities. The participants of the walk later gathered for a final body stretching exercise after the walk and went to have lunch.
