YESS participants engage Schools and Communities in Western Region in liquid soap making and sewing reusable pads

The YESS Participants have engaged schools and communities in the Western part of Ghana. A career bridger activity session at Kwabea Memorial Preparatory School was conducted where 67 girls were taken through stress buster and ice breaker activities. The young girls learned how to deal with stress and how to solve their problems as well. They also learned about how we managed to solve problems during times of the covid-19 pandemic.

The team also engaged 153 young girls and women at Beposo community in skills training. They were trained in how to make liquid soap and also Menstrual Hygiene Management activities. They were introduced to different sanitary products apart from the disposable pads and were also taught how to make reusable pads.

At Sekondi College, 137 girls were engaged in an Advocacy training session. They were given the opportunity to explain what they understood about advocacy and awareness creation. They then had the chance to address pertinent issues in the community and create an advocacy campaign using the problem tree.
