Ghana Girl Guides to Host Kusafiri 2023

Kusafiri means ‘TO JOURNEY’ in Swahili. It is one of the five world centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). It is based in Africa but has no fixed location, instead it moves around existing locations in different African Countries.

Kusafiri events are an opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of the place where we locate and to learn about yourself and build your connection with others. Kusafiri is coming to Ghana this August 2023 at the Ghana Girl Guides Association National training centre in Achimota, Accra.

The programme will include a visit to a local Girl Guide group where we will interact with girls and a full day of community connections where we will see the action that Ghana Girl Guides are taking to make a difference in our community. You will get a chance to not only see but be a part of our amazing work. We will take time to experience the rich culture of Ghana through immersing ourselves in activities such as dance, music, art and learning about traditional herbal medicine.

We will connect you with a local family and you will see first hand what life is like in Accra. There will also be time for a day to explore outside of the city.
