Zimbabwe’s Deputy High Commissioner Visits Ghana Girl Guides Association
In a momentous occasion of camaraderie and international collaboration, the Ghana Girl Guides Association had the distinct honor of hosting the Deputy High Commissioner of Zimbabwe to Ghana, Svodai Victoria Muzenda, on Monday, 19th February, 2024. The esteemed diplomat’s visit to the National Training Centre (Kusafiri) was met with warmth and enthusiasm as she was warmly welcomed by the Chief Commissioner, Mrs. Zakiya Abdul Wahab, and other esteemed members of the Association.
During her visit, Deputy High Commissioner, Svodai was graciously briefed on the impactful work and mission of the Ghana Girl Guides Association. Emphasizing the essence of the Youth Exchange South to South (YESS) Program, which aims to promote cultural exchange and youth empowerment, the Association shared insights into the transformative experiences offered through the program.
The Deputy High Commissioner’s visit held special significance, stemming from the presence of a YESS Volunteer Participant from Zimbabwe, Adelle Chinamasa, who had arrived in Ghana earlier this year. The exchange program, which brought together participants from five different countries, including Zimbabwe, serves as a beacon of friendship and mutual understanding.

As part of the YESS program’s itinerary, participants are encouraged to engage with diplomatic representatives from their host countries. The Deputy High Commissioner’s visit provided a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and dialogue, further strengthening the bonds of friendship between Ghana and Zimbabwe. In line with the program’s objectives, participants are also formally introduced to key stakeholders and institutions within their host countries ensuring their smooth integration and preparedness for any eventuality during their in the country.
The visit concluded on a note of gratitude and reflection, with the Deputy High Commissioner expressing her appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Ghana Girl Guides Association. As she bid farewell to the members of the association, she left behind a lasting impression of goodwill and partnership, reaffirming the shared commitment to youth empowerment and international cooperation.
