A Grand Welcome Ceremony for YESS Girls in Ghana
In a remarkable celebration of diversity and cultural exchange, the Ghana Girl Guides Association hosted a Welcome Party on January 27, 2024. The event marked the joyous reception of six participants (five volunteers and a professional) from the Youth Exchange South to South (YESS) Programme. Mayamiko Zulu from Zambia, Adelle Chinamasa from Zimbabwe, Sumaiya Antora from Bangladesh, Lauréat Judice from Madagascar, Iragena Zena Ziada from Rwanda and Margareth Frank Ntui from Tanzania arrived in Ghana on January 14, 2024, embarking on a transformative journey that spans six to nine months.

The association used this momentous occasion not only to welcome the YESS participants 2024 but also to extend warm greetings to two returning participants from the 2023 exchange program. Frances Agyapong and Vanessa Anaaba Aggrey, who represented Ghana in exchanges to Malawi and Tanzania Girl Guides Associations, were warmly welcomed as they returned home.

As Ghana welcomed the YESS participants, it bid farewell to four girls who are set to embark on their own exchange journeys. These spirited girls, full of enthusiasm and curiosity, are bound for Kenya, Tanzania, Nepal, and Madagascar-Mpanazava.
As the YESS participants settle into their new environment, the Ghana Girl Guides Association anticipates a journey filled with mutual learning, cultural exchange, and lasting bonds.
