Community recruitment drive in the Volta Region
Young women from the Bayive and Akatsi communities in the Volta region of Ghana were thrilled to learn that girl guiding is an international organization, especially after meeting the 2023 YESS Professionals (Florence Kwizera and Christa Nalumu). This happened during the recruitment drive by the 2023 YESS Professionals together with a YESS Task force (Enyonam Laurenda Awuitor) who resides in the Volta Region.
The YESS Professionals and YESS task force successfully recruited and engaged 52 women on the 23rd September, 2023 in the Bayive community and 22 women on the 24th September, 2023 in the Akatsi community in the Volta Region.
They engaged them in “Her Mighty Mighty World” activity from the Welcome to My World activity pack. They emphasized on the guiding history, mission, vision, and law. In addition they conducted a training session on liquid soap making.
The session proved to be very fruitful, as the participants displayed great enthusiasm in joining the movement.
